Surface Preparation
Pretreatment is an important stage of an industrial coating process. Before powder coating, the component surface needs to be properly cleaned and prepared.
A pretreatment plant provides a sequence of cleaning, rinsing and surface treatment stages designed according to the material, component condition and required coating process.
Urmi Surface Coating Private Limited can provide multi-stage pretreatment plants with 7, 9 or 12 tank configurations, followed by a drying oven and integration with the subsequent coating line.
Cleaning
Surface Treatment
Drying
Removes oil, grease, dirt and other contaminants from the component surface before subsequent chemical treatment.
Rinsing stages remove residual chemicals and contaminants before the component proceeds to the next treatment stage.
A suitable conversion treatment can be used to prepare the metal surface and support coating adhesion and corrosion protection.
Final rinsing helps remove remaining chemical residues before the component enters the drying stage.
Treated components are dried in a drying oven before powder coating or another finishing operation.
Tank Configurations
Different components and coating specifications require different surface preparation sequences. The tank count can therefore be selected according to the required process.

After Pretreatment
After the final pretreatment and rinsing stages, components need to be dried before entering the powder coating process. A drying oven is therefore integrated after the pretreatment section in a typical conveyorized coating line.
The oven can be configured according to component size, production speed, heating method and required drying conditions.
Complete Process Flow
In a complete powder coating plant, pretreatment is integrated with the drying oven, powder coating booth, curing oven and conveyor system.
